These stunning photos are of an origami city constructed by Japanese artist Wataru Ito (story and more pictures can be found at the Telegraph). It took Mr. Ito four years to build the piece he calls “Castle on the Ocean”, and now he says he will burn it down when the exhibition is finished, noting that if he took a video of the immolation and played it backwards he might see the city rise from the ashes.
You have to give credit and recognize the exquisite craftsmanship and dedication it takes to create a beautiful work of art like this. Sure, this site deals mostly with news and politics, but I’m human – when I see or hear something striking, I’m moved to show my appreciation.

well, this is not technically origami, as it includes cutting and gluing, and is from hundreds and hundreds of sheets.
what technically origamists call origami is, fold something from a single uncut square.
to see the best examples, look at this website:http://www.folders.jp/
folders.jp.what is it?kamiya satoshi’s official website.almost all of them, except a couple of modulars, are folded from uncut squares.or other shapes if necessary.even those pieces which are 2 coloured, with colour changes, are from a single uncut square.see?
