Once again, Obama pre-picks questioners

Posted on February 12, 2009

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The Wall Street Journal reports that Obama, in his last primetime news conference defending the disgusting stimulus, referred to a list of prescreened reporters who were apparently deemed worthy. Presidents can conduct their conferences however they want, but it flies in the face of the supposed openness this incoming administration was so keen to tout. The WSJ speculates that “our guess is that this is an attempt to discipline reporters who aren’t White House favorites.” I have a feeling they’re right.
