Charges filed against Nevada ACORN

Posted on May 4, 2009

You may be interested to learn that voter fraud charges have just been filed against ACORN and two of its employees in Las Vegas. It seems ACORN got a little overzealous in a bonus program called “Blackjack”, where employees were given a little extra cash for every voter registration over the required minimum of 20 per day. (Oh, and if you brought in less than 20 voter registrations, sorry, no more job.) Needless to say, it resulted in a large number of fraudulent registrations as ACORN employees tried to cash in on the scheme.

Investigations are ongoing in a number of other states, but no one seems to be paying much attention to ACORN anymore after all the heat they earned during the election. I have little doubt that other charges will be filed elsewhere, but I’ll be surprised if they’re met with the widespread scorn that they deserve.
